protagonist of the TV series skis -fi is Carl Kolchak, an investigative reporter (played by Stuart Townsend) who works in tandem with Perri Reed (Gabrielle Union) at the Beacon, newspaper of Los Angeles. Along with investigating the mysterious deaths and seemingly inexplicable phenomena that are often linked to the untimely death of Kolchak's wife, killed in an ambush 18 months before, and for which the journalist is being investigated by the FBI.
